Curtin Stadium and the Family Centre are excited to introduce the PAEDS program to our type 1 tribe!
PAEDS is a physical activity program for children and teens between 5 and 17 years old.
PAEDS pairs your child up with their very own university Student Mentor studying final year Exercise, Sport and Rehabilitation Science, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology or Occupational Therapy for one-on-one sessions that are targeted towards helping your child achieve their sporting goals, whatever they may be! Our Student Mentors are full of beans, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping kids get active and achieve their goals, and the Curtin Uni campus has world-class sport and gym facilities.
Here’s what a past Student Mentor said about working with kids with type 1:
“I was lucky to work with an 11 year old with type 1 diabetes. I loved hearing about his increased engagement with school sport and watching him get better and better every week on the basketball court. Keep up the great work buddy!” JC Smith, 3rd year Exercise, Sport & Rehabilitation Student.
